Dyeing

The most dramatic thing you can do to a piece of fabric is to dye or bleach it. We can do this either evenly across the piece or unevenly, to produce an astonishing variety of different colour textures, as we did for English National Opera's Carmen (left).

We can produce a specific colour pattern by tie-dying or random colour variations by patch-dying - this is one way of producing fantastic ageing effects. We can also produce graded effects by removing the fabric gradually from the dye so that the colour fades along the piece.

We work with both natural and synthetic dyes and on natural and synthetic fabrics.

We can also paint or spray dyes and stripping agents to get a host of other effects.

Call us on +44 (0) 20 8469 0151 or email us at info@schultz-wiremufabricfx.co.uk if you want to discuss any dyeing problem.
